Ashley and Calamity Jane :: Saving Grace Project

Consider this my version of a throwback Thursday… this is another of the sessions we did in conjunction with Saving Grace Pitbull Rescue a few years ago.  All the volunteers I worked with were great, and every time I look at one of these galleries I think “no THIS one is my favorite.”  But this one really does rank up there.  I just love a strong willed dog, and Calamity Jane definitely fits the bill.

Ashley is a runner and she chose Calamity as her rescue dog for this project because she liked to take Calamity Jane running with her to burn off some of her energy and she wanted that to come across in their session.

Penny :: ISO forever home

This is Penny.  She is a terrier mix of some sort who was found running loose in the Littlefield area.   A kind-hearted soul picked her up and she is now being boarded in the hopes that she can find a wonderful forever home.  She just happens to be BFF’s with Cutter, who is also still in search of a home.  It would make all involved ecstatic if they were able to go to a good home together, but that’s not a requirement…

They really don’t come much cuter than Penny…

Riata

Riata’s session was originally scheduled for Saturday morning but, due to a work conflict, it got moved to the evening hours.  It actually worked out better in the long run as it was storming like crazy right about the time we had originally scheduled for.  Evening, on the other hand, turned out to be just right for a session.

Riata is a Miniature Australian Shepherd and she is too cute!  She may be tiny, but she has a big personality.  And a HUGE energy reserve.

Kristie and Alec were totally game for trying out an old abandoned gas station I found outside of town.  Gotta love clients who are willing to drive out to the middle of nowhere to try out a location and don’t even flinch when there are piles of rusty junk everywhere.   Of course, I love my vintage processing so I couldn’t resist…

Then back to a different section of the park we used for Penny’s shoot a few weeks ago.

Joey : Lubbock Cat Photographer

Finally, as promised early, here is Joey.  Joey is the lone female cat in the household and as a result she has to put up with a bit of harassment from the boys.  She’s a sweet girl though, and once she warmed up for the camera, she was more than willing to put up with me in exchange for the toys that came along with me.

Another new favorite…

The blank kitchen wall made a perfect backdrop for some texturing action.  Love those big eyes!

Red

Red is the first of four cats from Tuesday’s session.  He seemed to enjoy hamming it up for the camera, and he certainly did his share of posing.

After he checked out the camera up close, of course.  This one may be my new favorite cat image.

Up next, Red’s brother Brutus.
